Speaker: Sílvia Roque

Sílvia Roque is currently working as a Researcher at the Centro de Estudos Sociais of the University of Coimbra. She holds a Ph.D in International Relations from the University of Coimbra and an M.A in African Studies from the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa as well as a B.A in International Relations from the University of Coimbra. During the past years she has been working in research projects in the field of International Relations, particularly in the area of Peace Studies. Besides Guinea-Bissau and El Salvador, countries where she has concentrated most of her research, she has also worked in research projects in Portugal and Mozambique. Furthermore, she has collaborated with civil society organisations and international organisations in carrying out studies aimed at understanding and reducing various expressions of violence.
